HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope all of you had a safe and happy holiday season. This is an exciting time for the AAF-CC. We just wrapped up our first fundraiser of the club year and it was a success, allowing us to continue our efforts to bring our members outstanding programs.

We are all preparing for the ADDY & Closer Awards in February, and our joint fundraiser with the Del Mar College Foundation which will be our April luncheon. I would encourage everyone to visit our Federation website at www.aaf-cc.org to review other upcoming programs.

It is also time to start thinking of our organizations leadership as we move towards the end of this first decade of the 21st century. We are one year out from our 60th anniversary as the leading voice of advertising in South Texas. I will be appointing this year’s nominating committee in the coming months, and would encourage anyone interested in serving on the Board to contact Jane Merritt, our Executive Secretary, so that she may forward your name to the committee. This will allow the committee to visit with you and provide you with all of the details about the commitment required to serve our members. We will be looking for nominations for all positions, from president to director.

On behalf of your Board of Directors, I wish all of you a very safe and successful 2008. We look forward to continuing our service to you over the next six months, and look forward to many more years of being your fellow members in the American Advertising Federation.
